In March 2025 alone, NMDC's production stood at 3.55 MnT, while sales grew by 6 percent year-on-year, rising from 3.96 MnT in March FY24 to 4.21 MnT. This steady growth underscores NMDC’s resilience and operational efficiency despite prevailing challenges in the industry.

For the last quarter of the fiscal year (Q4 FY25), NMDC recorded a production of 13.27 MnT. Sales witnessed a 6 percent sequential increase compared to the December quarter (Q3 FY25) and a year-on-year improvement from 12.54 MnT in Q4 FY24 to 12.66 MnT in Q4 FY25.

Demonstrating its strategic foresight and commitment to expansion, NMDC also recorded its highest-ever standalone capital expenditure (CAPEX) of Rs 3,707 crores in FY25, reinforcing its focus on capacity enhancement and infrastructure development.

Commenting on the achievement, NMDC CMD Amitava Mukherjee stated, “As we step into the new financial year, India’s iron ore demand continues to rise, driven by lower exports and steady expansion in merchant mining. Despite challenges, NMDC’s strategic planning and sustained efforts enabled us to maintain our top line in FY 2024-25. Entering FY26 brings us one step closer to our ambitious goal of reaching 100 million tonnes of production capacity by 2030. We must continue to drive efforts to optimize productivity and streamline operations.”
