NSE & BSE open on negative note in early trade

The BSE Sensex opened at 61,857.69 while the NSE Nifty opened at 18,273.75 on Friday

Mumbai: Benchmark stock indices opened on a negative note on Friday amidst high volatility. The BSE Sensex opened at 61,857.69 while the NSE Nifty opened at 18,273.75. The market is following a bearish trend. On Thursday, NSE closed at 18,297 whereas the BSE closed at 61,904.52.

Stocks in action

As per the live NSE data, only 14 stocks are in the green zone while the other 36 stocks are in the red zone. On BSE, 10 scrips are in the positive territory while 20 scrips are following a negative trend. Tata Motors, State Bank of India, Titan, Maruti are some of the bullish stocks while Power Grid, NTPC, and TCS are laggards.

Performance of markets worldwide

US markets including Dow Jones and S&P500 closed on a negative note on Friday. However, Nasdaq is following a bullish trend. European markets like CAC and FTSE are going to trade in bearish mode while DAX will follow a bullish trend. Among the Asian markets, only Nikkei 225 is bullish while Hang Seng, SET Composite, KOSPI, and Straits Times will be trading in a bearish mode.

In the commodities sector, Brent crude and crude oil are trading on a negative note while gold is expected to rise.
