New Delhi: The NTPC Bongaigaon unit in Assam achieved over 93 per declared capacity during the 2025-26 fiscal, indicating a high level of operational performance, a top company official said on Wednesday.
The plant load factor stood at around 65 percent, he said.

“NTPC Bongaigaon continues to play a significant role in meeting the energy requirements of Assam and other northeastern states with its installed capacity of 750 MW (3×250 MW).
“During 2025-26, the station generated around 4,110 million units (MU) of electricity till date, ensuring reliable power supply and contributing to grid stability,” said Arnab Maitra, Head of Project, NTPC Bongaigaon.
Operational performance remained a key focus area, with the station achieving a declared capacity of 93.72 per cent, reflecting “improved plant availability and maintenance practices”, he said.
The plant load factor was around 65.43 percent, aligned with grid demand and dispatch schedules, the company said.

A “major milestone” during the year has been the continuous operation of Unit-1 for 433 days, indicating “strong operational discipline and equipment reliability”, Maitra said.
Maitra also said that NTPC Bongaigaon has been focusing on education, healthcare, skill development, infrastructure, sports and cultural promotion CSR initiatives across the northeast.
These initiatives have impacted over 10 lakh people in the region so far, he said.
