Addressing a press meet, NTPC Kanti's Head of Project Sanjib Kumar Suar highlighted that the station has maintained an excellent safety record with zero fatal accidents over the past four years, reflecting a strong safety culture and adherence to operational protocols. He added that efforts are continuously underway to enhance plant efficiency and generation capacity.

On the corporate social responsibility (CSR) front, the station has been actively implementing healthcare, education and skill development initiatives in nearby communities. Weekly medical camps are being organised in surrounding villages, benefiting a large number of residents. In addition, a dedicated ambulance service for pregnant women and newborns has been introduced, providing access to health check-ups, free medicines and essential diagnostic services.

In the education sector, NTPC Kanti has set up two smart classrooms in local schools. Under the Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM), 40 girls from the Kanti region undergo a one-month residential training programme annually aimed at holistic development.

The station is also promoting women’s economic empowerment through skill development programmes such as sewing, bakery training and pickle-making.

As part of its infrastructure support, NTPC Kanti has undertaken road and drainage construction works and distributed around 900 desks in nearby schools. Demonstrating its environmental commitment, more than 70,000 saplings have been planted so far.
