NTPC commissions 50 MW at Dayapar Wind Project Phase-II in Gujarat

NTPC announced the commercial operation of the first 50 megawatts (MW) of capacity from the 200 MW Dayapar Wind Energy Project Phase-II located in Gujarat

New Delhi: NTPC Limited on Wednesday announced the commercial operation of the first 50 megawatts (MW) of capacity from the 200 MW Dayapar Wind Energy Project Phase-II located in Gujarat. The project is being developed by NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, a step-down subsidiary of NTPC through NTPC Green Energy Limited.

The 50 MW capacity has been declared commercially operational with effect from 00:00 hours on February 26.

With the commissioning of this capacity, the total installed capacity of the NTPC Group has risen to 88,182 MW, while the commercial capacity now stands at 87,102 MW. The addition marks another step in the company’s strategy to scale up its renewable energy portfolio as part of India’s broader clean energy transition.

At the subsidiary level, the NTPC Green Energy Limited Group’s commercial capacity has reached 9,151.08 MW following the commissioning. The group’s total installed capacity now stands at 9,201.08 MW, reflecting the incremental addition from the Dayapar project.

The remaining capacity of the 200 MW Dayapar Wind Energy Project Phase-II is expected to be commissioned in phases, subject to project execution timelines and regulatory approvals.
