NTPC declares commercial operation of 120 MW solar power unit in Madhya Pradesh

NTPC Green Energy Limited has declared commercial operation of the third and final part of its 220 MW Shajapur Solar Project (Unit-II) in Madhya Pradesh

New Delhi: NTPC Limited has announced that its step-down subsidiary NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), through NTPC Green Energy Limited, has declared commercial operation of the third and final part of its 220 MW Shajapur Solar Project (Unit-II) in Madhya Pradesh.

According to a regulatory filing made under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, the newly commissioned capacity of 120 MW began commercial operation from 00:00 hrs on June 29, 2025.

NTPC REL is a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited, which in turn is a subsidiary of NTPC Limited. The Shajapur Solar Project is a key initiative under NTPC's renewable energy expansion plans and reinforces the company's commitment to achieving its ambitious green energy targets.

With the commissioning of this final segment, the full 220 MW capacity of the Shajapur Solar Project (Unit-II) is now operational, marking a significant milestone in NTPC's clean energy journey.

NTPC, India’s largest power utility, has been steadily increasing its renewable energy portfolio in line with the government’s push for sustainable and green energy infrastructure across the country.
