NTPC declares commercial operation of Dayapar Wind project in Gujarat

NTPC has declared the commercial operation of the third and final part (6 MW) of its 150 MW Dayapar Wind Energy Project (Phase-I) in Bhuj, Gujarat

New Delhi: NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Limited, has declared the commercial operation of the third and final part (6 MW) of its 150 MW Dayapar Wind Energy Project (Phase-I) in Bhuj, Gujarat. This capacity addition comes under the larger 450 MW Hybrid Renewable Energy Project of NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NREL), a step-down subsidiary of NGEL.

With this, the entire 150 MW capacity of the Dayapar Wind Project has now become operational. The first tranche of 50 MW was declared commercially operational on November 4, 2023, followed by the second tranche of 90 MW on April 9, 2025. The final 6 MW began commercial operations from 00:00 hours on July 31.

As a result, the total installed and commercial capacity of the NTPC Group has now reached 82,902 MW, marking another significant milestone in India’s transition towards renewable energy.

The disclosure has been made by both NTPC Limited and NTPC Green Energy Limited to the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and BSE Limited on Thursday.

NGEL is spearheading NTPC’s green energy portfolio, contributing to the company’s ambitious clean energy goals and India's broader targets for renewable capacity expansion.
