New Delhi: NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Goa Energy Development Agency (GEDA) for the development of renewable energy projects totaling 300 MW or more, with or without energy storage, in the state of Goa.
The MoU has been signed and exchanged on Friday by Gauresh Ashok Pilgaonkar, Managing Director of GEDA, and Pushpendra Tyagi, Chief Financial Officer of NTPC REL. The event took place in the presence of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa and other senior officials from both organisations.
This collaboration marks a significant step in advancing Goa’s clean energy infrastructure and supports the state’s transition towards sustainable energy sources. The agreement is expected to unlock opportunities for large-scale solar and hybrid energy developments, potentially integrated with advanced energy storage solutions.
NTPC REL, under the umbrella of NGEL, has been actively expanding its renewable energy footprint across India in alignment with NTPC Group’s ambitious green energy targets. The partnership with GEDA further solidifies NTPC’s commitment to promoting clean and affordable energy across states, especially in regions with high potential for renewable energy deployment.
NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) is the flagship green energy arm of NTPC Limited, India’s largest power utility, and plays a pivotal role in achieving the country’s renewable energy goals.
