Power Grid approves Rs 485 crore project for SCADA system upgradation

The approval has been granted by the company's Board of Directors during its meeting held on Wednesday

New Delhi: State-owned power transmission major Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) has approved the upgradation of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and associated systems at its National Transmission Asset Management Centre (NTAMC) and Regional Transmission Asset Management Centres (RTAMCs) at an estimated cost of Rs 485.04 crore.

The approval has been granted by the company's Board of Directors during its meeting held on Wednesday.

The project aims to modernise Power Grid's grid monitoring and asset management infrastructure, enhancing operational efficiency, reliability and real-time monitoring capabilities across the national transmission network.

The investment is expected to strengthen the utility's digital infrastructure and support the growing complexity of India's power transmission system as renewable energy integration and grid expansion continue to accelerate.
