PowerGrid pays Rs 1,600 cr as interim dividend to govt for 2018-19

PowerGrid handed over electronic payment remittance advice for payment of Rs 1,629.62 crores to the government. The total interim dividend disbursed is to the tune of Rs 3,050.02 crores to about 5.91 lakh shareholders

New Delhi: PowerGrid Corporation of India Ltd, the country's central transmission utility and a Navratna PSU, has declared an interim dividend of Rs 5.83 per equity share of ₹10 each for the Financial Year 2018-19. PowerGrid handed over electronic payment remittance advice for payment of Rs 1,629.62 crores to the government. The total interim dividend disbursed is to the tune of Rs 3,050.02 crores to about 5.91 lakh shareholders. During the financial year 2018-19, the total dividend paid, including final dividend for FY 17-18, is Rs 4,514.86 crores which is 1.48 times the total dividend paid in FY 17-18, an official statement released by the state-owned entity said.

PowerGrid is one of the world's largest power transmission utility, and has a wide network of 1,51,507 circuit kilometres transmission lines, with 239 sub-stations and transformation capacity of 355,029 MVA.
