MCL wins eight Coal India awards

Besides first prize for overall performance, MCL also received two 2nd prizes in the corporate category for safety and star ratings

Sambalpur: Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) won the Overall Corporate Performance Award and received a total of eight awards during the 49th foundation day celebrations at Coal India headquarters in Kolkata. Besides first prize for overall performance, MCL also received two 2nd prizes in the corporate category for Safety and Star Ratings.

For employee welfare and cleanliness also, MCL’s Basundhara colony was adjudged the best in Coal India and its subsidiary, statement by The MCL said.

Congratulating the team, Keshav Rao, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, said, “These awards are reminder of our capability to make a difference, to overcome challenges, and to continue being leaders in our industry. Let us cherish this moment and use it as a springboard for our future endeavours," the statement said.

He also congratulated the winners in the individual category, which included Sanjay Kumar Jha, General Manager (Lakhanpur area) for the best General Manager, K K Raul, General Manager (Kaniha Area) for individual excellence, Sambit Patnai, General Manager (Civil) for Best Head of Department and Prashant Kumar Pradhan, Fitter, (Central Workshop, Talcher) as best sportsperson.
