In a recent milestone, RailTel secured a significant work order valued at Rs 144.88 crore from the Department of Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of Gujarat. This contract focuses on the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of CCTV systems, an essential upgrade to support and strengthen the state's safety mechanisms.

During the meeting, Agarwal briefed the Chief Minister on the status of Cluster-1 in the VISWAS Phase-II Project, a critical component in the Video Integration and State-Wide Advanced Security (VISWAS) initiative. This project is nearing completion and will enhance surveillance capabilities in key districts, including Gandhinagar, Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Arvalli, Patan, Mehsana, and both Kutch (East and West). RailTel’s involvement underscores its commitment to bolstering security through advanced technology.

The discussions also covered progress on the BharatNet Phase-II initiative, which aims to expand high-speed internet access to rural Gujarat. RailTel is pioneering FTTH (Fiber to the Home) and FTTx (Fiber to the x) services in 22 districts, creating a Public-Private Cooperative Partnership model. This initiative will provide high-speed broadband, IPTV, and OTT services to rural communities, fostering digital inclusivity. In addition to entertainment, residents will benefit from Government-to-Citizen (G2C) services and digital access to edutech, fintech, and agritech solutions directly via their televisions.
