New Delhi: REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Maharatna PSU REC Limited, has handed over the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for the Rajgarh Neemuch Power Transmission Project to GR Infraprojects Limited. The transfer took place on September 29.
According to an official statement from REC Limited on Tuesday, GR Infraprojects emerged as the successful Transmission Service Provider (TSP) under the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process conducted by RECPDCL, the designated Bid Process Coordinator. The project will be executed on a build, own, operate and transfer (BOOT) basis with an implementation period of 24 months.
The scheme involves establishment of a 2x500 MVA, 400/220 kV substation at Handiya, approximately 650 km of 400 kV double circuit transmission lines, augmentation works at Pachora and Neemuch pooling stations, as well as installation of line bays and bus reactors.
The project is expected to strengthen power evacuation infrastructure and enhance transmission capacity in the region, thereby supporting the government’s focus on reliable, efficient, and integrated power transmission systems.
The handover ceremony was led by RECPDCL CEO TSC Bosh, who formally transferred the SPV to GR Infraprojects Limited's Business Head (Power T&D) Saurabh Kaushik. Senior officials from RECPDCL, GR Infraprojects and Central Transmission Utility of India Limited were present on the occasion.
