RVNL bags Rs 145.34 crore Southern Railway contract for traction sub-stations project

RVNL has received a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from Southern Railway for a traction power infrastructure project valued at approximately Rs 145.34 crore

New Delhi: Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), a Government of India PSU under the Ministry of Railways, has received a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from Southern Railway for a traction power infrastructure project valued at approximately Rs 145.34 crore.

According to the regulatory filing, the scope of work includes design, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of Scott-connected traction sub-stations along with power quality compensating equipment and associated switching posts for a 2x25 kV AT feeding system. The package also covers SCADA integration and installation of Automatic Fault Locator (AFL) in the Jolarpettai Junction–Salem Junction (JTJ–SA) section of the Salem Division. The project supports Southern Railway’s Mission 3000 MT loading target.

The order is a domestic contract and must be executed within 540 days, the company said. The total cost of work stands at Rs 145,34,66,865.48, inclusive of applicable taxes.

RVNL confirmed that the LOA has been issued under general contract conditions and falls under the normal course of business. The PSU also stated that there is no promoter or related party interest associated with the contract.
