New Delhi: Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), a public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Railways, has announced that it has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for a major signalling and telecommunications contract awarded by IRCON International Limited. The contract, valued at Rs 178.64 crore (inclusive of GST), is part of routine business operations and is to be executed over a period of 11 months, including the monsoon season.
The scope of the project involves the supply of various signalling, telecommunications, and EIMWB (Electronic Interlocking Maintenance Work Bench) materials, as well as the installation, testing, and commissioning of advanced signalling systems. Specifically, the project covers the installation of distributed/centralised Electronic Interlocking (EI) systems at ten new stations—Surakachhar, Block Cabin, Katghora Road, Bhingra, Putuwa, Matin, Sendurgarh, Putipakhana, Dhangawan, and Bhadi.
Additionally, six new Intermediate Block Signalling (IBS) systems will be installed across several critical sections, including Bhingra–Putuwa, Putuwa–Matin, Sendurgarh–Putipakhana, Putipakhana–Bhadi, Bhadi–Dhangawan, and Dhangawan–Pendra Road. The project also includes the establishment of a new Section Control System integrated with train control communication equipment between Gevra Road and Pendra Road.
Further components of the project involve the commissioning of a new telephone exchange and EIMWBs at appropriate locations, along with alterations to existing signalling installations at Kusmunda Block Station (KBS) and the East Cabin of the SECL SILO siding (KMKA).
The contract has been awarded by IRCON International Limited, a domestic entity, and is not related to any promoter or promoter group companies. The transaction does not fall under related party transactions.
The announcement was made by RVNL in a regulatory filing to the stock exchnages on Monday. RVNL has also clarified that the contract falls within the normal course of its business activities.
