New Delhi: Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract awarded by East Central Railway for the doubling of a section of the Sitamarhi-Raxaul rail line in Bihar, the company said in a regulatory filing.

The project involves construction of doubling works from Kundawa Chainpur (excluding) to Raxaul (excluding), covering a stretch of 41.04 km in the Samastipur Division of East Central Railway.
The scope includes earthwork, blanketing, construction of minor and major bridges, station and other buildings, platform works, level crossing works, and other miscellaneous infrastructure required for 25-tonne Indian Railway Standard loading.

According to the filing, the value of the contract is approximately Rs 358.97 crore, including 18 percent GST, and the project is scheduled to be completed within 1,095 days.
