New Delhi: The Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE) has launched the second edition of its Advanced Global Leadership Program (AGLP 2.0) in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM Calcutta), aimed at strengthening the leadership capabilities of senior executives from Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs).

The programme was unveiled by SCOPE Director General Atul Sobti and RailTel Corporation of India CMD Sanjai Kumar at an event in Kolkata. Three faculty members from IIM Calcutta, Prashant Mishra, Biswatosh Saha and Partha Priya Dutta, were also present.
The latest batch comprises 27 senior executives from various CPSEs, bringing together participants from diverse sectors and business domains.

Addressing the participants, Sobti highlighted the role of leadership in driving excellence, innovation and organisational transformation across CPSEs. He said public sector leadership requires balancing business performance with public purpose, operational efficiency with stakeholder expectations and organisational priorities with broader national objectives.
Sanjai Kumar, an alumnus of the AGLP, shared his experience of the programme and highlighted the role of learning, peer interaction and global exposure in broadening strategic perspectives and understanding international business practices.
AGLP 2.0 is structured as a three-week immersive leadership programme, featuring intensive workshops at IIM Calcutta and SCOPE in New Delhi, followed by an international industry study tour.
The programme is part of SCOPE’s efforts to strengthen the leadership pipeline across CPSEs and develop senior executives with global exposure, strategic capabilities and a future-oriented approach to public sector transformation.
