SECL hosts 'Consumer Meet' to strengthen coordination with coal consumers

New Delhi: South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) organised a Consumer Meet at its headquarters in Bilaspur on Wednesday, reaffirming its commitment to fostering strong relationships with coal consumers. The initiative aligns with Coal India Limited’s directive to its subsidiaries to enhance consumer engagement through such meetings.

Presiding over the event, SECL's Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) JP Dwivedi, underscored the company’s priority in ensuring the timely supply of high-quality coal. He extended his appreciation to the Sales & Marketing Department for successfully organizing the meeting and encouraged similar initiatives in the future to bolster consumer relations.

During the session, SECL’s Director Technical (Operations, Project, Planning) N Franklin Jayakumar, emphasized the need for prompt resolution of consumer concerns, while Director (Finance) D Sunil Kumar, reassured stakeholders of SECL’s commitment to addressing their financial matters effectively.

Opening the discussions, General Manager (Sales & Marketing), Shri T.S. Bahera, highlighted the necessity of further strengthening the engagement between SECL and its consumers.

The Consumer Meet saw the participation of over 200 representatives from more than 70 coal-consuming companies. Key topics discussed included coal supply logistics, quality management, and enhanced coordination strategies. Consumers actively shared feedback and suggestions, which SECL assured would be duly considered for implementation.
