UIDAI partners NFSU to strengthen cybersecurity, digital forensics capabilities

UIDAI has entered into a five-year collaboration with National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) to enhance cybersecurity, digital forensics and advanced technology research capabilities

New Delhi: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has entered into a five-year collaboration with National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) to enhance cybersecurity, digital forensics and advanced technology research capabilities.

The memorandum of understanding (MoU) establishes a structured framework to strengthen cyber resilience across UIDAI’s digital infrastructure, which underpins India’s digital identity ecosystem.

The MoU has been exchanged between UIDAI CEO Vivek Chandra Verma and Prof (Dr.) S.O. Junare, Director, Gujarat Campus of NFSU, in the presence of senior officials from both organisations, including Deputy Director General Abhishek Kumar Singh.

The collaboration will be implemented across six key strategic areas, including academic and professional development, information security and system integrity, forensic infrastructure and lab excellence, and technical support for cybersecurity operations. It will also cover advisory and joint research in emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, deepfake detection and cryptographic systems.

In addition, the partnership will focus on capacity building and outreach initiatives, including creating pathways for student placements from NFSU.

Commenting on the development, Verma said the collaboration marks a significant step towards strengthening the security, resilience and forensic capabilities supporting India’s digital public infrastructure, while enhancing safeguards for the country’s digital identity systems.
