ACC extends IREDA CMD’s tenure by a year

The ACC has approved the tenure extension of the CMD of IREDA, Pradip Kumar Das, by a year, or until further orders

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the tenure extension of the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA), Pradip Kumar Das, by a year until the date of his superannuation, June 30, 2026, or until further orders. Earlier this month, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) had extended the tenure of the IREDA CMD beyond his current five-year term, which was scheduled to end on May 5, 2025.

“In furtherance to our earlier letter dated May 1, 2025, this is to inform you that the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (“MNRE”) vide its order dated 14.05.2025 has conveyed that Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (“ACC”) vide its order dated 13.05.2025 has approved the extension of tenure of Shri Pradip Kumar Das, Chairman & Managing Director (CMD), IREDA for a period w.e.f. 06.05.2025 till the date of his superannuation i.e. 30.06.2026, or until further orders whichever is earlier,” IREDA told the stock exchanges on Wednesday.

Das has been at the helm of IREDA since 2020, overseeing significant growth in the company’s operations and its role in supporting India’s renewable energy ambitions. His leadership has been instrumental in strengthening the agency’s financial performance and expanding its reach across the renewable energy sector.

IREDA, a Navratna PSU under MNRE, plays a critical role in financing and promoting renewable energy and energy efficiency projects across the country.
