AK Sehgal elevated to Executive Director at NTPC Talcher Kaniha

AK Sehgal has been promoted to the position of Executive Director of NTPC Talcher Kaniha with effect from March 3

New Delhi: Ashok Kumar Sehgal, Head of Project at NTPC Talcher Kaniha, has been promoted to the position of Executive Director with effect from March 3. With this elevation, Sehgal will continue to contribute his expertise towards NTPC’s growth and strategic initiatives.

Sehgal assumed charge as the Head of Project at NTPC Talcher Kaniha on January 1, 2024. A seasoned professional with extensive experience in the power sector, he has been an integral part of NTPC since joining as an Executive Trainee at NSPCL Durgapur in 1989.

Over the years, he has held key positions at NTPC Dadri, Corporate OS Department at EOC Noida, NTPC Mouda, and NTPC Vindhyanchal, gaining vast experience in commissioning, operations, mechanical maintenance, maintenance planning, and ash dyke management. He joined NTPC Kaniha in August 2022 as General Manager (Maintenance) and was later promoted to General Manager (O&M) in November 2022.

A Mechanical Engineer by profession, Sehgal holds an M.Tech in Power Engineering from IIT Delhi and a Post Graduate Diploma in Finance from IGNOU. His expertise spans various facets of power plant operations, maintenance, and construction. He has also undergone specialized training in power plant management from premier institutes in India and abroad, including the Power Management Institute, Noida, and an advanced management program in Silicon Valley, USA.

Recognized for his employee-centric leadership and commitment to workforce welfare, Shri Sehgal has played a pivotal role in achieving numerous accolades for NTPC Kaniha. Under his guidance, the plant has successfully implemented several community development projects, contributing to the socio-economic growth of the surrounding region.

The NTPC Kaniha fraternity has extended its heartfelt congratulations to Shri Sehgal on his well-deserved elevation and wishes him continued success in his new role as Executive Director.
