
New Delhi/Talcher: NTPC Talcher Kaniha hosted the Basant Utsav 2025, a two-day cultural festival organized by the Tanvi Sangam Ladies Club, from January 31 to February 1. The event, themed "Gaon ke Rang, Apni Sanskriti Ke Sang", showcased the rich cultural heritage of village life, emphasizing tradition, community spirit, and the deep-rooted connection to history and nature.
The celebration witnessed the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including Arindam Sinha, Regional Executive Director (ER-2), as the Chief Guest, accompanied by Rupali Sinha, President of Vasudha Mahila Mandal. Also in attendance were Vijay Chand, BUH of Talcher Thermal, and Vibha Agarwal, President of Sagarika Ladies Club. AK Sehgal, BUH of Talcher Kaniha, played a key role as the Chief Patron of the event.
Under the leadership of Renu Sehgal, President of Tanvi Sangam Ladies Club, the event brought together employees, their families, and members of the local community. A highlight of the festival was the vibrant Mela, featuring over 80 stalls that reflected the theme, "Gaon ke Rang, Sanskriti ke Rang." Of these, 15 stalls were set up by Tanvi Sangam, while additional stalls were organized by local schools, including KV, SSVM, and DAV, as well as various vendors from the surrounding areas. The stalls presented a diverse display of traditional village crafts, foods, and cultural artifacts.
Apart from the marketplace, the festival included various games and activities catering to all age groups. A major attraction was the cultural program, which featured captivating dance performances and musical renditions by the Singari Entertainment team from Bhubaneswar, further enhancing the festive atmosphere.
As part of its commitment to community development, Tanvi Sangam made significant contributions to local welfare initiatives. The club distributed bags and battery inverter beddings to Maa Bhairavi High School and provided spectacles for assisted vision to women at the welfare center. Additionally, Derang Ashram School received essential supplies to support its students.
The event successfully brought together the NTPC Talcher Kaniha community, celebrating the deep cultural ties of rural India while promoting local artisans and traditional artistry. The joyous gathering reinforced the essence of village life, truly embodying the festival’s theme: “Villages: Gaon ke Rang; Apni Sanskriti ke Sang.”
