Amit Kumar Jain appointed as Director (Finance) of Grid-India

The ACC has approved the appointment of Amit Kumar Jain as Director (Finance) of Grid Controller of India Limited (Grid-India) on Tuesday

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Amit Kumar Jain as Director (Finance) of Grid Controller of India Limited (Grid-India) on Tuesday. Presently, he is serving as General Manager at Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL).

According to an order issued from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) on May 5, the appointment has been made on the recommendation of the Ministry of Power. Jain will serve as Director (Finance) for a period of five years from the date of assumption of charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Jain was recommended for the post of Director (Finance) of Grid India by the PESB Selection Panel in its 11th Meeting of 2025, held on February 8.

Jain brings with him extensive experience in the power sector, particularly in financial management, corporate governance, and regulatory affairs. During his tenure at PGCIL, he played a key role in managing financial operations and contributing to strategic financial planning in one of India's largest transmission utilities.

Grid-India, formerly known as POSOCO, is a central PSU under the Ministry of Power and is responsible for overseeing the smooth and secure functioning of India's electricity grid.
