M Salman Khan gets additional charge of CVO of IREL

M Salman Khan, currently serving as CVO of Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL), has been given additional charge of CVO of IREL (India) Limited

New Delhi:  M Salman Khan has been given additional charge of Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of IREL (India) Limited, a Miniratna PSU under the administrative control of Department of Atomic Energy, Mumbai. He is currently serving as CVO of Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL). Khan has been appointed for a period of six months or till the appointment of a regular CVO in IREL, whichever is earlier.

Khan is an Indian Revenue Service (IRS-2000) officer. He has been serving as CVO of NPCIL since March 8.

IREL (India) Limited

IREL (India) Limited, formally known as Indian Rare Earths Limited, is a government-owned corporation based in Mumbai. It was incorporated as a private limited company and jointly owned by the government. The government took control of IREL in 1963 under the administrative control of Department of Atomic Energy (DAE). It was incorporated with the primary intention of taking up commercial-scale processing of monazite sand at its first unit namely Rare Earths Division (RED), Aluva, Kochi for the recovery of thorium.

IREL commissioned its largest division called Orissa Sand Complex (OSCOM) at Chhatrapur, Odisha. As per now, IREL operates these four units along with a corporate office in Mumbai and a unit located in Manavalakurichi of Kanyakumari district.
