New Delhi: Manish Kumar has assumed the additional charge of Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL) on Thursday. He has been assigned with the additional charge of NCL’s CMD post upon Bhola Singh’s superannuation on January 31. He has served as Director (Personnel) of NCL since September 21, 2022.
“In terms of the office order issued from the Ministry of Coal in this regard, he has been entrusted with this big responsibility upon Shri Bhola Singh’s superannuation on January 31, 2024,” the Coal Indian subsidiary said in an official statement on Thursday.
Kumar joined the NCL as Director (Personnel) in September 2022. Under the stewardship of Kumar, the company is touching new heights in different key areas related to Human Resource Management and industrial relations. Prior to joining NCL, Kumar was serving in Central Coalfields Limited (CCL). He has also served in Coal India Headquarters, Kolkata.
He has a rich experience of over 29 years in the coal sector. He played a crucial role in formulating and implementing various human resource policies & interventions in CIL and its Subsidiaries. Kumar is known for his excellent managerial skills, simplicity, and accurate decision-making ability.
After assuming the charge of NCL CMD, Kumar exhorted team NCL for continued excellent performance towards the energy security of the nation.
