NTPC Green Energy announces board reshuffle with new Independent Director appointments

Deepak Babu, Brajesh Raman, and Phalguni Patra have been appointed as Independent Directors for a tenure of three years starting from the date of notification, or until further orders, whichever is earlier

New Delhi: NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Limited, has announced key changes to its Board of Directors following an official communication from the Ministry of Power, Government of India, dated May 8, 2025.

As per the order, three Independent Directors — Dr. Viveka Nand Paswan, Shri Bimal Chand Oswal, and Ms. Sajal Jha — have ceased to hold their positions with effect from May 8, 2025.

Simultaneously, the Ministry has appointed Deepak Babu, Brajesh Raman, and Phalguni Patra as Independent Directors for a tenure of three years starting from the date of notification, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. The appointments are subject to the completion of statutory formalities required under applicable regulations.

NTPC Green Energy, which operates in the renewable energy domain under the aegis of India’s largest power utility NTPC Ltd, stated that the changes align with its commitment to strengthening corporate governance and aligning with strategic national priorities in the clean energy sector.
