PESB names Surajit Mishra for Director In-charge of SAIL's Burnpur and Durgapur Steel Plants

The PESB has recommended the name of Surajit Mishra for the post of Director In-charge (Burnpur and Durgapur Steel Plants) of SAIL

New Delhi: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended the name of Surajit Mishra for the post of Director In-charge (Burnpur and Durgapur Steel Plants) of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Steel.

The selection was made during PESB's Meeting No. 29/2025 held on April 19, 2025. Mishra, who currently serves as Executive Director (Projects) at the IISCO Steel Plant under SAIL, emerged as the top choice among a pool of 12 senior executives from across various SAIL units and allied organisations.

The post of Director In-charge entails overseeing the operations and strategic direction of both Burnpur and Durgapur Steel Plants, which are among SAIL’s key production units.
