PESB selects S Thirumalai Selvam for Sagarmala Development Company's Director (Projects) post

The PESB Panel has recommended the name of S Thirumalai Selvam for the post of Director (Projects) of Sagarmala Development Company Limited on May 1

New Delhi: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended S Thirumalai Selvam for the post of Director (Projects) at Sagarmala Development Company Limited (SDCL), a Schedule ‘B’ Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways.

Selvam, currently serving as General Manager and Technical Assistant to the Executive Director at the Research & Development Centre for Iron and Steel (RDCIS) under Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), was chosen from a pool of 11 shortlisted candidates. The selection interview was conducted on May 1, 2025.

Other candidates interviewed included senior executives from top public sector companies such as SAIL, NTPC, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Engineers India Limited (EIL), Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), and the Indian Navy.

Notable contenders included Ishwar Chandra Gupta and Shri Bidhan Chandra Debnath from SAIL, Anand Sagar Pandey from NTPC, and CMDR. Sameer Agarwal and Commodore B. Balasundaram from the Indian Navy.

The final appointment will be subject to necessary clearances and approvals.
