Power Grid board approves appointment of several executives as Executive Directors

As many as 11 senior executives have been elevated as Executive Directors, with effect from January 25, the Power Grid inform on Jan 25

New Delhi: Maharatna power PSU Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) has approved the promotion and appointment of several senior officials as Executive Directors (EDs), with effect from January 25, following a meeting of its Board of Directors held on Sunday.

Among those promoted is Sanjay Sharma, Chief Executive Officer of POWERTEL, who brings over three decades of experience in telecom marketing, corporate planning and asset monetisation. Abhinav Verma, Executive Director (Rajasthan Projects), has also been elevated, with extensive experience in transmission projects critical for renewable energy evacuation.

Other senior officials approved as Executive Directors include M S Hejib (SR-II), Kumud Wadhwa (ERP & IT), Harinarayanan Puthan Kalam (HR), Vikas Bagadia (CTUIL), Ashok Kumar Naik (ER-II), Rajesh V (Khavda–Nagpur HVDC Project) and Arindam Chakraborty (Field Quality & Assurance), all of whom possess more than three decades of sectoral and leadership experience.

Additionally, Vineeta Agarwal, CEO of Powergrid Energy Services Ltd (PESL), and Akhilesh Kumar Dixit, CEO of Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL), continue to serve on secondment, contributing to emerging business areas such as smart grids, energy efficiency, renewable integration and digital transformation.

The company stated that the leadership changes are aimed at strengthening operational excellence, digital initiatives, project execution and strategic planning across its transmission and energy infrastructure portfolio.
