Ravindra Kumar Jain (IRSE) set to be Managing Director of DFCCIL

Ravindra Kumar Jain (IRSE), who is currently serving as Chief Project Director in Indian Railways, has been recommended for the post of Managing Director (MD) of DFCCIL

New Delhi: (PESB Recommendation) Ravindra Kumar Jain is set to be Managing Director (MD) of Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL), a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Railways. He has been recommended by a Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) Panel on Wednesday. Jain is an Indian Railways Service of Engineers (IRSE) officer. He is currently serving as Chief Administrative Officer (Construction) in Eastern Railways.

Jain has been recommended for the post of Managing Director of DFCCIL from a list of eight candidates who were interviewed by the selection panel. There were a total of three candidates, who were on the list were from DFCCIL and two others were from Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation (MRVC) and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL).

As Managing Director of DFCCIL, Jain will be responsible for all the activities of the corporation including personnel, financial and commercial management, corporate planning and project implementation. He also will be responsible for the effectiveness of the organisation in the pursuit of the company's current objectives, including the recovery of the outstanding from various defaulting business associates.

Education & background

Jain is an Indian Railways Service of Engineers (IRSE) officer of Rajasthan. He has done Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Civil Engineering from Malaviya Regional Engineering College (MREC), Jaipur and Master of Technology (M Tech) in Environmental Engineering Technology from IIT, Roorkee. Jain holds a long experience of close to three decades in various construction Projects in Indian railway.

Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL)

The Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL) is a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) corporation run by the government under the Ministry of Railways to undertake planning, development, and mobilisation of financial resources and construction, maintenance and operation of the dedicated freight corridors. The DFCCIL was registered as a company under the companies act 1956 in 2006.
