Saleem Ahmad assumes additional charge as CMD of IRCON for one year

Saleem Ahmad has assumed the additional charge of Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of IRCON International Limited (IRCON) with effect from July 1

New Delhi: Saleem Ahmad has assumed the additional charge of Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of IRCON International Limited (IRCON) with effect from July 1. The Ministry of Railways has entrusted him with the additional responsibility for a period of one year, or until the appointment of a regular incumbent, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

In addition to assuming the role of CMD, Ahmad has also been designated as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Key Managerial Personnel (KMP) of the company with effect from July 1, 2026, pursuant to the approval of IRCON's Board of Directors at its meeting held on June 26.

An accomplished civil engineer, Ahmad is currently serving as Chairman & Managing Director of Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL). He holds a degree in Civil Engineering from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, and brings over 35 years of extensive experience in the infrastructure and construction sector.

During his distinguished career, Ahmad has led the execution of several large-scale infrastructure projects, with expertise spanning bridges, tunnels, residential and commercial developments. Prior to joining RVNL, he served as Director (Projects) at NBCC (India) Limited. Earlier, he was Executive Director (Civil) at Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and also held a key position at Mumbai Port Trust.

He has made significant contributions to the development of sustainable infrastructure and has presented technical papers at national and international forums. During his tenure at DMRC, he played a pivotal role in designing and implementing last-mile connectivity solutions, further strengthening urban transport infrastructure in the country.

IRCON informed the stock exchanges that Ahmad's appointment has been made pursuant to an order issued by the Ministry of Railways dated June 23, 2026.
