Sarit Maheshwari set to be next Managing Director of NTPC Green Energy

The PESB panel has recommended the name of Sarit Maheshwari for the post of Managing Director of NTPC Green Energy Limited

New Delhi: Sarit Maheshwari is set to be next Managing Director of NTPC Green Energy Limited, an umbrella company for the green business initiatives of NTPC Limited. He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Thursday. Presently, he is serving as Chief Executive Officer in the organisation.

Maheshwari has been recommended for the post of Managing Director of NTPC Green Energy from a list of 10 candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB selection panel in its selection meeting held on Thursday. Out of 10 candidates three candidates were from NTPC Limited and one each from Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC), Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (PVUNL), NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), SJVN Limited, NHPC Limited, Power Finance Corporation Limited (PFC) and Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL).

Maheshwari has been serving as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Key Managerial Personnel of NTPC Green Energy since May 10, 2025.

A veteran of the power sector, Maheshwari brings over 35 years of rich industry experience. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Aligarh Muslim University, a Master's in Power Generation Technology from IIT Delhi, and an MBA from IGNOU.

Prior to his new role, he served as CEO of NTPC Renewable Energy Limited and NTPC Rajasthan Green Energy Limited—a 74:26 joint venture between NGEL and Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited. He has also held leadership roles, including Head of Project at NTPC Korba.
