Sushil Sharma appointed as Director (Electrical) of SJVN

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Sushil Sharma as Director (Electrical) of SJVN Limited, a state-run Miniratna PSU under the administrative control of the Ministry of power, on Wednesday. According to an order, Sharma has been appointed on the post with effect from the date of his assumption of charge of the post on or after August 1, or till the date of his superannuation, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. He is currently serving as General Manager (Electrical) in the same organisation. With his promotion, Sharma will replace Rakesh Kumar Bansal who is serving the organisation for a long time. 

Earlier, PSU Watch had reported that Sharma was recommended for the post of Director (Electrical) of SJVN Limited by a PESB panel on Januaury 21. He was selected from a list of seven candidates, who were interviewed by the selection panel.

SJVN Limited

SJVN Limited, a Miniratna PSU under the administrative control of Ministry of Power, was incorporated on May 24, 1988, as a joint venture of the government and the state government of Himachal Pradesh. SJVN is now a listed company having shareholders pattern of 61.93 percent with government 26.85 percent with the government of Himachal Pradesh and rest of 11.22 percent with Public, according to the company's website. SJVN Limited is in the process of developing power projects which are in different stages of development in India as well as the neighbouring countries Nepal and Bhutan.
