New Delhi: Uttam Lal has taken over as Director (Personnel) of NHPC Limited, the company said in an official statement on Tuesday. Prior to his appointment at NHPC, Lal was serving as Chief General Manager (HR-CSR/R&R/LA) in NTPC Limited.

Lal was recommended for the post of Director (Personnel) of NHPC Limited by the PESB panel in its selection meeting held on February 28. He was selected for the post from a list of 11 candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB selection panel.

Uttam Lal holds a PG Diploma in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations from the prestigious Xavier Institute of Social Sciences (Ranchi). He also holds an LLB degree from Ranchi University. NHPC shall be greatly benefitted from Shri Uttam Lal’s joining as Director (Personnel) in the company due to his expertise and long experience in the power sector.

A thorough professional is his field, Lal has over 35 years of vast and rich experience in the area of Personnel Management, Industrial Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility. He is a core HR professional having an objective of amalgamating potential of Human resource to an organization’s Goal and vision.
