Vartika Shukla set to take over as Director (Technical) of EIL on Aug 1

Vartika Shukla, who is currently serving as Executive Director of Engineers India Limited (EIL), is set to take over as Director (Technical) of the organisation on August 1

New Delhi: Vartika Shukla is set to take over as Director (Technical) of Engineers India Limited (EIL), a Navratna PSU under the administrative control of the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoPNG), on August 1. She is currently serving as Executive Director in the same organisation. With the new position, she will replace Lalit Kumar Vij, who has been working with EIL since 1982.

PSU Watch had earlier reported that Shukla had been recommended for the post of Director (Technical) of EIL by a Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on January 8. She was selected for the post from a list of seven candidates, who were interviewed by the selection panel.

Vartika's educational background

Vartika Shukla holds a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Indian Institue of Technology (IIT), Kanpur. She has a pretty long association of about 32 years with EIL, that began in July 1988. She possesses more than 32 years of professional experience in chemical engineering. She has served upon various positions of the organisation. She is a recipient of gold trophies of the 'SCOPE Excellence Awards' in 'Outstanding Woman Manager in PSEs' category.

Engineers India Limited (EIL) is a design and engineering company in the field of petroleum refineries, petrochemicals, oil and gas processing, offshore structures and platforms, fertilizers, metallurgy and power. EIL provides services such as design, engineering, procurement, construction management, commissioning assistance and project management. EIL was set up in 1965 to provide engineering and related technical services for petroleum refineries and other industrial projects. Currently, EIL has two wholly-owned subsidiaries, Ramagundam Fertilizers and Chemical Limited Head Office in New Delhi and fertilizer and chemical plant in Ramagundam, Telangana.
