New Delhi: Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), a public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, has announced the appointment of Zaigham Ali Khan (IRAS) as the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) on an additional charge basis. The appointment, approved by the Railway Board and the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), took effect from the afternoon of July 7, 2025.

Khan is currently serving as Executive Director Vigilance (Accounts) in the Railway Board. He has been entrusted with the additional responsibilities of RVNL CVO, for a period of six months or until the appointment of a regular CVO, whichever is earlier.

An officer of the 1998 batch of the Indian Railway Accounts Service (IRAS), Zaigham Ali Khan brings with him a distinguished track record spanning over two decades. A B. Tech graduate in Computer Engineering, he also holds a Master’s in Financial Management and a Law degree. Over his career, he has held diverse assignments across Indian Railways, the Ministry of External Affairs, and the Chief Minister’s Office in Gujarat.

Notably, during his tenure as Regional Passport Officer, Ahmedabad, Khan played a pivotal role in digitising passport operations in Gujarat through the implementation of the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) system. He was also instrumental in setting up three key state-run entities—GARUD, G-RIDE, and BRCL—serving as Founder Shareholder and Director (Finance & Business Development) in each.
