Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, Chakma said more than 300 investors, entrepreneurs, industry leaders and representatives from 10 foreign embassies will participate in the summit.

"We have already received investment proposals worth Rs 70,000 crore for the summit, and the figure may increase," she said.

The summit will focus on sectors including tourism, healthcare, education, information technology, agarwood, rubber and bamboo, she added.

Noting the outcome of last year's conclave, Chakma said 87 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) were signed, bringing proposed investments of around Rs 3,800 crore to the state.

She said the state government has also conducted investor outreach programmes in New Delhi, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Gujarat and Guwahati, which together have attracted investment commitments worth Rs 6,757 crore.

"The objective of organising the summit is to attract investments and make Tripura self-reliant, in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047," Chakma said.

Industries and Commerce Secretary Kiran Gitte said the government is prepared to offer additional incentives to investors depending on the scale and nature of their proposals.

He said the state already offers incentives under the 'Tripura Industrial Investment Promotion Incentive (TIIPI)' scheme to encourage industrial investment and entrepreneurship.
