New Delhi: Atul Kumar Mishra, Indian Railway Personnel Service (IRPS) officer of the 2010 batch, who was recommended for Central deputation by the ministry of railways has been selected for appointment as deputy secretary in the Ministry of Culture, Delhi under the central staffing scheme. The deputation will last for a period of four years from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders whichever event takes place earlier. "Atul Kumar Mishra may kindly be relieved of his duties immediately with instructions to take up his new assignment in the ministry of culture," the DoPT order said issued on Friday.

Atul Kumar Mishra is an IRPS officer of the 2010 Civil Service Exam batch. Prior to this stint, he was handling the charge of Dy Chief Personnel Officer (General) in North Central railway and Dy chief personnel officer of IT & welfare. Mishra has done B.Sc., M.A. (Delhi University), B.Ed. & Master in Public Policy. He completed his Masters in Public Policy & Management from IIM Bangalore. He has attended Higher Management training in 'Human Resources' from Tata Institute of Social Sciences Mumbai.

His first posting was as an Assistant Personnel Officer on Western Railway. In his distinguished career held various important posts of APO/TRAFFIC, Engineering, SPO(Incharge), DPO, Sr. DPO-II & Sr. EDPM, DY. CPO.IT & Welfare, Dy. CPO/GENERAL/ADMIN Western Railway as well as held the key posts of CHAIRMAN/RRC Prayagraj, North Central Railway.

He has the credit to introduce a Computerised Pass System in North Central Railway. Mishra served in Prayagraj Division as Senior Divisional Personnel Officer where he took initiative to finalize all old pension revision cases which gave relief to many old pensioners. He has also served in the Agra division as a divisional personnel Officer where he introduced Mission Zero Grievance & Silence Hour for improving work culture.
