New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has cleared the appointment of several senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officers to key leadership positions in central armed police forces and intelligence agencies, following a proposal from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).

According to the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) order issued on Monday, Zaki Ahmad (IPS, UP:1993), Inspector General, CRPF, has been appointed as Special Director General, CRPF. His tenure will continue until his superannuation on March 31, 2028, or until further orders. Raja Srivastava (IPS, UP:1994), Additional Director General, CRPF, has also been elevated as Special DG, CRPF, till his retirement on February 28, 2029.

Similarly, Amit Kumar (IPS, BH:1994), ADG, CRPF, will serve as Special DG, CRPF, up to October 31, 2030. Deepak Kumar (IPS, AM:1994), ADG, CRPF, has been appointed as Special DG, CRPF, on an in-situ basis, with his post temporarily upgraded for a two-year tenure.

In the Border Security Force (BSF), Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal (IPS, TN:1994), ADG, has been appointed as Special DG, BSF, until his superannuation on March 31, 2032.

The Intelligence Bureau (IB) will see the appointment of three officers as Special Directors on an in-situ basis for a two-year tenure: Apte Vinayak Prabhakar (IPS, TG:1994), Manmeet Singh Narang (IPS, MP:1994), and Anurag Kumar (IPS, AGMUT:1994), all currently serving as Additional Directors.

In the National Investigation Agency (NIA), Rakesh Aggarwal (IPS, HP:1994), ADG, has been appointed as Special DG on an in-situ basis for two years.

Similarly, in the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Anupama Nilekar Chandra (IPS, BH:1994), ADG, has been elevated as Special DG, also on an in-situ basis, for a two-year tenure.

As per the DoPT order, the appointments are effective from the date of assumption of charge and will continue either until superannuation or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
