ACC clears appointments of several officers at Additional Secretary/Equivalent posts

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointments of several officers for Additional Secretary/Additional Secretary equivalent posts on Monday. Here is the full list of newly appointed officers:

Anurag Agarwal (IAS) has been appointed as Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor in the Ministry of External Affairs. He has been appointed to the post in place of Vibhu Nayar (IAS) upon his appointment as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. Agarwal is an a 1990-batch IAS officer of Punjab cadre.

Rupinder Brar (IRS) has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Coal. Brar is a 1990-batch Indian Revenue Service (IRS) and is presently posted in her cadre.

Deepti Gaur Mukerjee (IAS) has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Department of Health & Family Welfare. She is a 1993-batch IAS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre.

Pallavi Jain Govil (IAS) has been appointed as Director General of Hydrocarbons in the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary. She is a 1994-batch IAS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre.

Sudeep Jain (IAS) has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy. Jain a 1994-batch IAS officer of Tamil Nandu cadre.

Amit Kumar Ghosh (IAS) has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment by temporarily upgrading a vacant post of Joint Secretary in the Department. Ghosh is a 1994-batch IAS officer of UP cadre. Presently, he is serving as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways.

Niraj Verma (IAS) has been appointed as Administrator of Universal Service Obligation Fund, Department of Telecommunications in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary. Verma is a 1994-batch IAS officer of Assam cadre.

Abhishek Singh (IAS) has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology. The officer will continue to hold the additional charge of the post of Chief Executive Officer of Karmayogi Bharat. Singh is a 1995-batch IAS officer of the Nagaland cadre. Presently, he is posted as Chief Executive Officer of the National e-Governance Division in the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology.

Shakil P Ahamed (IAS) has been appointed as Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor in the Ministry of Textiles. He is a 1995-batch IAS officer of Assam cadre.

Hitesh Kumar S Makwana (IAS) has been appointed as Surveyor General of India at Survey of India under the Department of Science & Technology in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary by keeping the Recruitment Rules for the post in abeyance. He is a 1995-batch IAS officer of Tamil Nandu cadre and presently posted as Additional Secretary of Department of Home in the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Gitanjali Gupta (IAS) has been appointed as Additional Secretary of NITI Aayog. She is a 1996-batch IAS officer of AGMUT cadre and presently posted as Managing Director of Tribal Co-operative Marketing Development Federation of India (TRIFED) under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.

Caralyn Khongwar Deshmukh (IAS) has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Department of Rural Development. He is a 1996-batch IAS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre.

Ritvik Ranjanam Pandey (IAS) has been appointed as Officer on Special Duty for Advance Cell of 16th Finance Commission, Department of Economic Affairs in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary by temporarily upgrading a vacant post of Deputy Secretary/Director in the Department. He is a 1998-batch IAS officer of Karnataka cadre and is presently posted as Joint Secretary in the Department of Revenue under the Ministry of Finance.

Rajeev Kumar Mital (IAS) has been appointed as Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor in the Department of Atomic Energy. He is a 1998-batch IAS officer of the Maharashtra cadre.

Srikant Nagulapalli (IAS) has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Power. Nagulapalli is a 1998-batch IAS officer of Andhra Pradesh cadre and is currently posted as Joint Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat.

Rahul Sharma (IAS) has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat in place of Srikant Nagulapalli (IAS), upon his appointment as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Power by temporarily upgrading the post held by him. He is a 1998-batch IAS officer of the Jharkhand cadre. Presently, he is posted as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Aayush.

Manmeet Kaur Nanda (IAS) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat in place of Ajay Yadav upon completion of his central deputation tenure on November 10, 2023. Nanda is a 2000-batch IAS officer of West Bengal cadre and is presently posted as Joint Secretary in the Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade (DPIIT).

The ACC has also approved in-situ upgradation of the following officers to the level of Additional Secretary to the Government of India as a measure personal to them by temporarily upgrading the posts held by them:

Aneeta C Meshram (IAS) has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Department of Fertilizers. She is a 1996-batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre and is presently posted as Joint Secretary in the Department.

Pankaj Kumar Bansal (IAS) has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Cooperation. He is a 1997-batch IAS officer of the Tamil Nandu cadre. Presently, he is posted as Joint Secretary in the same Ministry.

Vishal Chauhan (IAS) has been appointed as Member (Admin) of National Highways Authority of India in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary. He is a 1998-batch IAS officer of Sikkim cadre.

Akash Tripathi (IAS) has been appointed as CEO of MyGov in the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary. He is a 1998-batch IAS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre.
