ACC promotes these two IPS officers

The ACC has approved the appointment of Nalin Prabhat (IPS) as DG in NSG and Sapna Tewari (IPS) as Special Director in IB

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs for the promotion of these two IPS officers on Thursday:

Nalin Prabhat (IPS) has been appointed as Director General of National Security Guard (NSG). He has been appointed to the post for a period with effect from the date of joining the post and up to August 31, 2028 i.e. date of his superannuation or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Prabhat is a 1992-batch IPS officer of Andhra Pradesh cadre. Presently, he is serving as Additional Director General in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

Further, IPS officer Sapna Tewari has been appointed as Special Director in Intelligence Bureau (IB). She has been appointed to the post on "in-situ" basis by temporarily upgrading the post of Addl. Director held by the officer for a tenure of two years from the date of assumption of charge of the post or up to the date of her superannuation i.e. April 30, 2026 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Tewari is a 1992-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of Odisha cadre. Presently, she is serving as Additional Director General in IB.
