Anil Kumar (IRS), who was recommended for Central deputation by the Department of Revenue, has been selected for appointment as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Textiles

New Delhi: Anil Kumar (IRS) has been selected for appointment as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Textiles. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) on Wednesday, he has been appointed to the post under the Central Staffing Scheme (CSS) for a period of four years from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Kumar is an Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer of 2008 batch. He was recommended for Central deputation by the Department of Revenue. "He may kindly be relieved of his duties immediately with instructions to take up his new assignment in the Ministry of Textiles," the order added.

The Ministry of Textiles is a government national agency responsible for the formulation of policy, planning, development, export promotion and regulation of the textile industry in India. This includes all-natural, artificial, and cellulosic fibres that go into the making of textiles, clothing and handicrafts. The current Minister of Textiles is Smriti Irani.
