New Delhi: Gaurav Hariom Gupta (IDSE) has been selected for the appointment as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) on Thursday. According to an order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Gupta has been selected for the appointment under the central staffing scheme (CSS) for a period of four years from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever event takes place earlier. He was recommended for the central deputation by the Ministry of Defence.
"He may kindly be relieved of his duties immediately with instructions to take up his new assignment in the Ministry of Road, Transport & Highways," the order further read.
Gupta is an Indian Defence Service of Engineers (IDSE) officer of the 2004-batch. He is an engineering graduate (BE) from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology and has completed M. Tech. in Structural Engineering from IIT-Delhi. Currently, he is serving as Joint Director at Military Engineer Services in the Ministry of Defence. Prior to joining Military Services, he had worked in NTPC.
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is a ministry of the Government of India, that is the apex body for formulation and administration of the rules, regulations and laws relating to road transport, transport research and also to increase the mobility and efficiency of the road transport system in India.
