DoPT appointment: Rajeev Mishra (IPS) gets appointed as Superintendent of Police (SP) in CBI

New Delhi: (DoPT News) The government has appointed Rajeev Mishra (IPS) as Superintendent of Police (SP) in Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday. According to an order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Mishra has been appointed to the post on deputation basis for a period of four years with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post. He is a 2010-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of Bihar. Presently, he was serving as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Gaya, Bihar.

Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI)

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is the premier investigating agency of India. Operating under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, the CBI is headed by the Director. Originally set up to investigate bribery and governmental corruption, in 1965 it received expanded jurisdiction to investigate breaches of central laws enforceable by the government, multi-state organised crime, multi-agency or international cases.
