New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointments of these three Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) on Deputy Secretary or equivalent positions.

1.    The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Amrapali Kata (lAS) as Deputy Secretary in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO). According to an order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), she has been appointed to the post on lateral shift with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post for a period up-to October 27, 2023, or until further, whichever is earlier. Amrapali is a 2010-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Andhra Pradesh cadre. Currently, she is posted as Deputy Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat. 

2.    ACC has also approved the appointment of Raghuraj Rajendran (lAS) as Director in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO). He has been appointed to the post for a period with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, up-to November 20, 2022, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Rajendran is a 2004-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre. Prior to this, he was serving as Private Secretary to the Union Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas and Steel Dharmendra Pradhan. 

3.    Finally, ACC has also approved the appointment of Mangesh Ghildiyal (IAS) as Under Secretary in PMO. He has been appointed to the post for a period of four years with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post or further orders. Ghildiyal is a 2012-batch IAS officer of Uttarakhand cadre. Currently, he is serving as District Magistrate of Tehri Garhwal, the state government of Uttarakhand.

In another order issued on the same day, ACC approved the proposal for the appointment of Ashok Kumar (IRPS) to the post of Member in Staff Selection Commission (SSC). He has been appointed to the post on deputation basis for a period of five years with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post and till July 20, 2023, i.e. the date on which he attains the age of 62 years, or until further orders, whichever is the earliest. Ashok is an Indian Railway Personnel Service (IRPS) officer. of Indian Railways.

Prime Minister's Office (PMO)

The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) consists of the immediate staff of the Prime Minister, as well as multiple levels of support staff reporting to the Prime Minister. The PMO is headed by the Principal Secretary, currently Pramod Kumar Misra. The PMO was originally called the Prime Minister's Secretariat until 1977 when it was renamed during the Morarji Desai ministry. It is part of the government of India and is located in the South Block of the Secretariat Building.
