New Delhi: Madhu Sharma (ICAS) has been selected for appointment as Deputy Secretary in the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC). She was recommended for Central deputation by the Department of Expenditure. According to an order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), she has been selected for appointment as Deputy Secretary in the CVC under the Central Staffing Scheme (CSS) for a period of four years with effect from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier. "She may kindly be relieved of her duties immediately with instructions to take up her new assignment in the Central Vigilance Commission," the order said.

Madhu is an Indian Civil Accounts Service (ICAS) officer of 2011-batch. She is currently posted as Assistant Controller General of Accounts in the Ministry of Finance.

Central Vigilance Commission (CVC)

The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) is an apex governmental body created to address governmental corruption. The Parliament enacted a law conferring statutory status on the CVC in 2003. It has the status of an autonomous body, free of control from any executive authority, charged with monitoring all vigilance activity under the Central government, advising various authorities in the Central government organisations in planning, executing, reviewing and reforming their vigilance work.
