New Delhi: The Central Government in its order issued on Thursday has selected Pankaj Singh (IRSSE) for the appointment as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Food & Public Distribution under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution. According to the Personnel Ministry order, he has been selected for the appointment under the Central Staffing Scheme for a period of four years from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever event takes place earlier.

Singh is an Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineers (IRSSE) officer of 2009-batch. He was recommended for the central deputation by the Ministry of Railways. "He may kindly be relieved of his duties immediately with instructions to take up his new assignment in the D/o Food & Public Distribution," the order added.

Further, in a separate order issued on the same day, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal for the appointment of Dr Raghab Prasad Dash as Private Secretary to the Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Narayan Tatu Rane in the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME). He has been appointed to the post for a period of three years and 8 days (i.e. balance period of five years of working as PS/OSD), in relaxation of 'cooling off' condition, on co-terminus basis with the Minister with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post or till he ceases to function as PS to the Minister or until further orders, whichever occurs the earliest with the stipulation that he would revert to his cadre on cessation of tenure as PS to the Minister for whatever reason.

Singh is currently serving as Director of the Rajya Sabha Secretariat.
