Rajesh Kumar Sahu (IRS) set to be Director in Tourism Ministry

New Delhi: Rajesh Kumar Sahu, an Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer of 2010-batch, has been selected for the appointment as Dupetu Secretary/Director in the Ministry of Tourism. According to an order issued on May 22, he has been selected for the appointment under Central Staffing Scheme (CSS) for a period of four years with effect from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier. He was recommended for this post by the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, the order said.

The Ministry of Tourism, a branch of the government, is the apex body for formulation and administration of the rules, regulations and laws relating to the development and promotion of tourism in India. It facilitates the Indian Department of Tourism the head of the ministry is the Minister of Tourism. To promote the GDP of the country indirectly and to have friendly relations with them, the government has announced officially a visa on arrival status/facility for the international visitors to enter or visit India from 43 countries including United States, Australia, Vietnam, Thailand, Vanuatu, Singapore, Israel, Jordan, Kenya, Russian Federation, Brazil, Finland, Germany, Japan, Myanmar on November 27, 2014 and some more countries to follow soon.
