New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the re-appointment of retired IAS officers namely- Amit Khare and Tarun Kapoor as Advisors to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday.

According to the DoPT order, the officers have been appointed in the rank and scale of Secretary to Government of India, for a period of two years with effect from June 10 or until further orders whichever is earlier, on contract basis.

Khare is a 1985 batch retired IAS officer from Bihar cadre. He has been serving as the Advisor to Prime Minister of India since October 2021.

Kapoor is a 1987 batch retired IAS officer from Himachal Pradesh cadre. He has been serving as the Advisor to Prime Minister of India since May 2022.
