New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of S Radha Chauhan, IAS (Retd.), as the full-time Chairperson of the Capacity Building Commission (CBC), according to an official order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Monday.
Chauhan is a 1988-batch Indian Administrative Service officer from the Uttar Pradesh cadre. Previously, she had served as the Secretary of the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT). She will serve in her new role for a period of three years from the date of assumption of charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
In a related development, the ACC has also approved the extension of Adil Zainulbhai's tenure as part-time Chairperson of the CBC with effect from August 1, until the joining of the regular incumbent.
The Capacity Building Commission (CBC) was constituted under the National Programme for Civil Services Capacity Building (Mission Karmayogi) and plays a critical role in driving reforms and enhancing the capabilities of India's civil services.
